Parade Cart Pulling is VERY addictive! Screaming crowds, matching bands, fire trucks, loudspeakers, posing for hundreds of photos.......whats not to like? While Parades are not the primary mission of the LAPCC.........they are my favorite!

A lot of behind the scenes work goes on to join a parade. (Not run one....just to join one.) Pre-registration is required. It's not as simple as just showing up. Trucks are needed to drop off the carts at the starting line and be ready at the pickup point. Hotel Rooms need booking, car pools are sorted out. It's a group effort.

The cart I am pulling Petite Flower in is my own. Made by Graham Carrage Works it comes apart without tools and fits in a car. It's desinged for minature horses but makes an ideal role-play cart.

The whip is NOT used to beat the pony! Slight taps are used to guide me - it's hard to hear or see wearing my horse outfit and kids and dogs are all over.

It's hot, and there's no breeze. I should have removed my shirt....to late now....the parade must go on!

Note: It's a horse cart - not a rickshaw - I'm pulling as a horse. I use my front hoofs to make fine balance adjustments. The weight is distributed between my hips and shoulders by means of a fully functional harness. I perfer it this way.

I found the group through an advertisment for an event in the alternative press. However, you can go on Fetlife and find groups near you.

Silly Dog! There's no luck involved and you know where to go to be part of it.

There was even a dog slead with a fox tied to it, pulled with two dogs that don't look half as good as you!
